  • Wrapper with GI in a box`?

I have a wierd problem. I took a normal box in max, deleted one side and inverted the normals to get a square room. Now i created a second box and placed it somewhere in the back of the room. In the open side of the room where i deleted the side I placed a vray light. Turned on gi and all the other settings to my likings and hit render. Looked as i wanted. Now i created a wrapper material and applied it to the room but not to the box.
Hitting render now just gives me the shadow that is casted on the back of my room and not on the floor or any other wall except the back one. Only if i detach the walls and invert the normals again it shows me the shadows. But why?

    cheers

    that is kinda odd.
I guess it could be because vray tends not to like single faces objects... try adding a shell modifier to the room to make it have some thickness and render again.

      Had this idea...

I tried this before and didnt work. Also tried creating the room with boxes for each wall and same result. Iam using the latest vray btw.

              Are you using shadowmap shadows?

                  v-ray unwrapper with v-raylight.

should i render this pass with another renderer and differnt lights?

                  cheers

no... just give us a copy of a simple scene that exhibits the problem that you are having... cause i cannot reproduce it here.
